Open to pianists of any nationality, ages 16-32 as of November 1, 2010 

1. The following materials must be received by March 1, 2010

- Current HEADSHOT or photo   -   by e-mail

- Current RESUMÉ                    -   by e-mail

- Current BIO in 250 words or less for use in the competition program       - by e-mail

DVD – the recording of 15 - 20 minutes program should be made within the last calendar year.  Submitted program should consist of pieces in contrasting styles and periods and may be part of the competition repertoire. Sign the face of the DVD with your first / last name and mail it with the list of tracks and the names of the pieces.

Proof of Age - please mail a copy of your birth certificate, passport or driver’s license.

Two letters of recommendation: One from your current teacher and the second one from another musician of professional standing, signed across the back flap of the envelope. A letter of recommendation sent by e-mail directly from the recommender will also be acceptable. This can be emailed to:  paderewski.music.society@ijpaderewski.org 

The non-refundable APPLICATION FEE of $100 US may be paid by:

- cashier's check;

- money order;

- Western Union or

PayPal 

To pay by cashier's check or money order, make the check payable to the Paderewski Music Society.

To pay through Western Union, send the money to Paderewski Music Society with an email notification of the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) sent to: paderewski.music.society@ijpaderewski.org

To pay by PayPal click the link above; after login to your account, please use the above e-mail address for completion o payment.

2. Complete Online Application Form (www.ijpaderewski.org ) and submit electronically by midnight of March 1, 2010.

3. Print a copy of your completed online application for your records.

4. Any Application and/or Supplemental Materials received past the due date of March 1, 2010, will not be considered.

5. All 24 accepted candidates will be notified by March 15, 2010.

COMPETITION VENUE AND DATES

The competition will take place in the Colburn School of Music, Los Angeles, California from May 26 to May 29, 2009.

It will consist of two stages.

Practice facilities will be provided.

ELIGIBILITY

The 2010 competition is open to pianists of any nationality who are no younger than 16 years of age and no older than 32 years of age as of November, 2010.
    
Applications MUST BE RECEIVED BY March 1, 2010.

Twenty-four applicants will be chosen to compete upon review of all applications.  The pre-selection of the candidates will be carried out by a panel of the pianists of the international standing.  The accepted pianists will be notified by March 15, 2010. 

TRAVEL AND HOUSING

All applicants arriving on the intercontinental flights between their original place of residence and Los Angeles will be reimbursed up to 1/3 or $500 (whichever is less) of the airfare price, as indicated on the air ticket. The American Paderewski Piano Competition will also provide housing for all non-Los Angeles based applicants between June 25, 2010 and the night following the last performance of the contestant.

All other flight, passport/visa, and housing arrangements and costs are the sole responsibility of the applicant.

An official acceptance letter will provide details regarding performance schedule, practice rooms and additional general information.
