As a member of a family of professional musicians, pianist NikitaMndoyants began to play piano and compose music at a very young age. Heentered the Central Music School in Moscow in 1995, and gave his firstpublic recital two years later, when he was eight years old. In Marchof 1999, the ten-year old Nikita appeared at the Sibelius AcademyConcert Hall in Helsinki. His extraordinary performance there wasrecorded and issued on a CD in 2001. Nikita Mndoyants graduatedfrom the Moscow Central Music School with honors as a pianist and composer in 2006. Later that year, he entered the CompositionDepartment of the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow, where hecurrently studies composition with Professor Alexander Tchaikovsky andpiano with professors Alexander Mndoyants and Nikolai Petrov. Followinghis successful recital in Helsinki, during the last decade Nikita hastoured throughout Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Latvia,Estonia, China, Switzerland, Israel, France, and the United States. Hehas also participated in numerous festivals, including the MusicalKremlin, Moscow Autumn, Saint-Petersburg Piano Festival, the LiepaePiano Festival in Latvia, Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój,Poland, Davos World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, andInternational Keyboard Institute and Festival at Mannes College in NewYork City. Throughout his career, Mr. Mndoyants has also gatheredan impressive list of credits for his performances with orchestras,including the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony orchestra,Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra, andFilharmonia Pomorska in Bydgoszcz, Poland, appearing under the baton ofsuch celebrated conductors as Murad Annamamedov, Charles Ansbacher,Fedor Gluschenko, Eri Klas, Felix Korobov, Misha Rachlevsky, AlexanderSladkovsky, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, and Vladimir Ziva, among others. Mr.Mndoyants has appeared in recital in the most prestigious concert hallsfrom Moscow and Saint-Petersburg to the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall andCortot Hall and the Louvre Auditorium in Paris. In 2004, NikitaMndoyants performed the Quintet by Dmitri Shostakovich with the famousBorodin Quartet. Nikita Mndoyants is the winner of severalinternational piano competitions, including the First Prize at theInternational Youth Competition in Saint-Petersburg in 2004, the FirstPrize at the Tel-Hai Concerto Competition in Israel in 2005, and theFirst Prize at the prestigious 2007 Paderewski International PianoCompetition in Bydgoszcz, Poland, where he also received a specialprize for the best recital in the semi-final round. Mr. Mndoyants’spiano and chamber compositions have been published by the Composer,Muzyka, and Jurgenson Editions. He has recorded works by Scarlatti,Beethoven, Schumann, Schubert, Liszt, Rimsky-Korsakov, Grieg,Prokofiev, Sibelius, and a number of his own compositions for theClassical Record and Vista Vera labels.
